Dear Thought Leader,
Welcome to our Canada Day special Top 10 stories in Canadian EdTech powered by MindShare Learning.
As I reflect on the International Society for Technology in Education Conference ISTE19 in Philadelphia, I'm still processing the convergence of some 20,000 education and EdTech leaders, over 500 exhibitors and hundreds of professional learning sessions.
It was one of our best and most highly engaged ever as we were honoured to be an ISTE Media sponsor and Global Collaborator; host of our 16th CanAm Celebration Excellence Meetup, and partner of the Quebec EdTeq Breakfast Networking event.
Quick facts on ISTE19 Philadelphia. The World's Largest EdTech Conference & Expo Celebrated its 40th Anniversary.
>> Over 20,000 Participants Gather in Philadelphia for Education Innovation Conference
>> 50 states and 81 countries gathered in the City of Brotherly Love for four days of immersive professional learning.

What struck me most about ISTE, is that it's not about technology, more importantly it's about people; the informal learning and interconnected professional learning networks that continue to grow at an exponential rate are powerful and inspirational--thanks in part to collaborative tech tools that bind us together on a global scale. This is the secret sauce of education. It's a people business. The personal relationships and partnerships we forge throughout systems down to the classroom level our the key to nurturing student success.
I'm especially proud of the many Canadians who attended our 16th CanAm Celebration of Excellence meetup, who have made an incredible impact in education in Canada and beyond. Canada is truly the envy of many countries and it's so fitting the I write this blog on the Canada Day long weekend. We celebrate our leaders, a great country that is a diverse, tolerant home to amazing education systems that help inspire and provide a world class standard of living.
What I love about ISTE is catching up with long-time colleagues, meeting NEW friends & colleagues and expanding our professional learning networks.
One of the highlights for me personally was interviewing the lead of NASA's first ever playground at ISTE giving educators and students real world STEM experiences.
As I prepare for this week's C21 CEO Academy Summit in Halifax, I am reminded of the exceptional national leadership of our members and the passion to that goes beyond the call of duty to hone their skills to keep Canada at the forefront of innovation on the global stage.
With that, a friendly reminder to send us your comments, tips, research, success stories and upcoming events!
Hope you had a memorable Canada Day long weekend!
Until next time, keep the digital learning curve steep!
