Dear Thought Leader,

It's great to be back from the 40th Future of Education Technology Conference (FETC) in Miami where Canada made its mark on many levels. My one word for 2020 is #impact and proudly I can say that our Canadian contingent of some 200 delegates made their presence known!

Checkout our Top 10 FETC20 highlights, including video interviews and a stellar STEM presenation by educator, Ben Kelly, whose school, Caledonia Regional H.S. in NB, was named North America's Top STEM school. No need to go visit High Tech High in Silicon Valley to get inspired, when we have such prestigious and innovative school in our own backyard of Canada!

It was a great honour to host our 17th CanAm Celebration of Excellence Meetup in partnership with the Canadian Consulate of Miami and FETC. We were thrilled to announce at our CanAm that we'll be hosting our 11th Canadian EdTech Leadership Summit in Toronto in partnership with the TDSB at its newly built, Jean Lumb Public School in downtown Toronto Fall 2020.  Stay tuned for more details!

Special thanks our host partners and sponsors; FETC, LRP, Canadian Consulate of Miami, EdWeb, pi-top, Padcaster and Forward ThinkingEdu.

I hope you enjoy our special Canadian Top 10 stories from FETC in Canadian EdTech powered by the MindShare Learning Report--Canada's Learning & Technology eMagazine.

We greatly value hearing from you! Keep the comments coming as it raises the bar for us! A friendly reminder to send us your comments, news releases, research, recommend a podcast topic and upcoming events! We're also happy to highlight career opportunities!

" Caledonia Regional High School has always been on the cutting edge of innovation and now the whole world knows. The school’s recognition as the top STEM school in North America has everyone in our school district busting with pride. Teacher Ben Kelly, who accepted the award on behalf of the school, continues to demonstrate that engaging 21st century learning experiences are possible in every classroom regardless of how big your school is or where in the world that school is located. I am proud of Ben and his colleagues at CRHS and thank them for their hard work and dedication to their students, anything is possible in their classrooms."

3. A Special Celebration at the CanAm! Reflecting on 20 years of the TLC (Reader Rabbit, KidPix and Oregon Trail) Acquisition by Mattel

CanAm FETC January 15, 2020

Pictured (L-R) Kathy Hurley, former Sr. VP TLCSchool; Robert Martellacci, former Canadian Country Manager; Deb deVries, former Director of Marketing; Jerry Rosenbusch, former Channel Manager, TLC School Group

Kathy Hurley, former TLC VP, School Division and Deb deVries, Director of Marketing challenged the CanAm crowd with TLC trivia and stunning facts on Kevin O'Leary's legendary deal with Mattel at $3.7B. It was a memorable evening that culminated with a cake cutting ceremony of sorts.  The one trivia question that wasn't asked, where was Kevin O'Leary?  While he was not known to enjoy the education market, personally, I was inspired by Kevin and my colleagues to launch MindShare Learning. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to learn and experience over 30 acquisitions according our trivia game hosts! Thanks again Kathy and Deb for taking us down memory lane!
