Welcome to the Special CanAm EdTech Report School Year-end edition. It was so apropos that we concluded with hosting our 26th ISTE CanAm Celebration of Excellence in Learning & Innovation partnering reception in Philadelphia. We toasted some 150-plus teacher leaders and industry partners for excelling in delivering dynamic learning opportunities to help students thrive.
ISTELive Attracted over 17,500 attendees featuring 500 plus exhibitors, where delegates averaged some 20,000 steps walked daily, or more! The convention centre was expansive making it quite the learning adventure and an opportunity to connect with colleagues while on the way to sessions. While AI was the rage, another term that emerged is HI (Human Intelligence). We need to strive to keep it real and not lose the human connection as we struggle to maintain a balance with the proliferation of tech-infused pedagogy. Hence, ISTELive provided many opportunities for powerful informal learning opportunities through the many social activities and innovative learning zones throughout the convention centre.
It was fortuitous that I connected at ISTELive with one of the top education leaders in North America for a MindShareTV podcast, Zandra Jo Galvan, Superintendent, Greenfield Union School District.
